A shocking crime shook the Egyptian street on Monday, as a young man was killed by another after a quarrel between them. In detail, the Director of Security in Beni Suef received a report from the police operations room in the governorate, informing about the murder of a young man by another with a knife in Al-Tir’a Al-Bousa Street in the Upper Egypt area of Beni Suef city, according to local media.
Upon the authorities' arrival at the scene, initial investigations revealed that the incident occurred suddenly while both parties were joking with each other. However, the joking quickly escalated into a fight, and one stabbed the other. Local residents confirmed that the victim, "Mohammed (35 years old)," who worked as a vegetable and watermelon seller, was walking down a side street with his watermelon cart when he encountered the assailant, "Hossam (28 years old)," and began joking with him.
Things suddenly escalated when the assailant stabbed the victim in the abdomen with a knife. An ambulance was called in an attempt to save the victim's life, but he died before reaching the hospital. The body was transferred to the morgue to take the necessary legal measures concerning the incident.
The authorities arrested the assailant, who was taken to the Beni Suef Police Station. The prosecution, under the supervision of prosecutor Mohamed Al-Mutnawi, the Chief Public Prosecutor for Beni Suef, ordered the burial of the victim's body after a medical examination by the forensic doctor and investigations by the police. The prosecution also ordered the assailant to be held for four days pending investigations.
