The city of Sidon and the Al-Hariri family mourned Mustafa Ahmad Al-Hariri (Abu Nader), husband of Bahia Al-Hariri, head of the Al-Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development, and father of Nader, Ahmad (Secretary General of the Future Movement), Ghina, and Ala Al-Hariri. The funeral took place in a grand and solemn ceremony, where the Mufti of Sidon and its districts, Sheikh Salim Sousan, represented the Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Deryan, leading the prayers for the deceased at the Al-Hajj Baha’a Al-Hariri Mosque.
The funeral procession then moved to the new Sidon cemetery in Siroub, where the body was buried. The deceased's sons, Nader and Ahmad, were surrounded by their uncle Shafiq Al-Hariri and family members receiving condolences in the cemetery hall. Bahia Al-Hariri, along with her brother Shafiq, and the deceased’s children Nader, Ahmad, Ghina, and Ala, received condolences before and after the burial at the Majdaloun residence.
Among the prominent attendees at the funeral and condolences were: representative of the Speaker of the House Nabih Berri, MP Ali Asiran; representative of the caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Minister of the Environment Nasser Yassine; representative of the Army Commander General Joseph Aoun, Southern Military Region Commander Brigadier General Maroun Qobaiti; former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora; the Mufti of Tyre and its region Sheikh Mudarar Al-Habal; General Director of Internal Security Forces Major General Imad Othman; Maronite Bishop of Sidon Maroun Ammar; Father Jihad Francis and Father Suleiman Wahbi representing the Greek Catholic Bishop of Sidon, Eli Haddad; Sheikh Maher Hamoud; and MPs: Abdurrahman El-Bizri, Ali Bazi, Hassan Azeddin, Faisal Karami, Simon Abou Remia, Melhem Khalaf, MP Mohammad Suleiman leading a delegation from the Beqaa tribes, former MP Sleem Khoury representing MP Gibran Bassil, Talaal Arqdan representing MP Osama Saad, and former ministers Zina Akhar, Samir Al-Jisr, and Wiam Wahhab.
Former MPs Asem Araji, Hadi Habish, Ibrahim Azar, Alaa Tarrou, Ziad Al-Qadri, Rola Tabash, Tarek Al-Maarabi, Ziad Aswad, Secretary General of the Cabinet Judge Mahmoud Makiyeh, and various judges and inspectors from the Internal Security Forces were present, along with President of the Housing Bank Antoine Habib, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Sidon and the South Mohammad Hassan Saleh, and heads of municipalities and political, spiritual, and military leaders.
Family members of Mustafa Al-Hariri received condolence calls, notably from Presidents Nabih Berri and Saad Al-Hariri. The family will continue to receive condolences on Friday and Saturday at their residence in Majdaloun from 10 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 6 pm, and on Monday, April 22, at the residence of President Saad Rafik Al-Hariri in Beit Al-Wasat, Beirut, from 3 pm to 6 pm.
