In a serious field development that took place on Thursday evening on the southern front, Israeli warplanes launched waves of attacks on several areas in the south, with the most intense targeting a house in Al-Jumayjmah. Field information confirmed the death of the military leader in Hezbollah, Ali Jaafar Matouq (Habib Matouq). Initial reports indicate the martyrdom of Habib Matouq, a member of the Radwan Force, in an airstrike on the outskirts of Al-Jumayjmah in southern Lebanon.
**Who is Matouq?**
Ali Jaafar Matouq (Habib Matouq) hails from the town of Sir al-Gharbi in southern Lebanon and is a prominent leader in Hezbollah's Radwan Force. He participated in numerous battles alongside Hezbollah, particularly during the war in Syria, and had been actively responsible in recent times for the operations conducted by the party against Israel from the south. Three of his members were also killed in the same airstrike, while bulldozers continue to work on clearing the debris of the targeted house, which was completely destroyed.
**Hezbollah's Statement**
Hezbollah mourned Matouq in a statement, saying: "With great pride and honor, the Islamic Resistance announces the martyrdom of the Mujahid Ali Jaafar Matouq 'Habib Matouq,' born in 1978 in the town of Sir al-Gharbi in southern Lebanon, who ascended to martyrdom on the road to Jerusalem."
