The Minister of Agriculture in the caretaker government, Abbas Al-Haj Hassan, has departed leading a delegation from the ministry, along with the Director General of Cooperatives, Engineer Gloria Abu Zaid, to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to participate in the 11th Ministerial Cooperative Conference of Asian and Pacific countries. This conference is hosted by the Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture and the Jordanian Cooperative Corporation in partnership with the International Cooperative Alliance of Asian and Pacific countries and Arab states. The aim of the conference is to enhance partnerships between governments and cooperatives that work alongside both the public and private sectors to support the economies of countries, recognizing it as a third sector contributing to the overall domestic income. This will be achieved through joint efforts toward sustainable development across all economic, social, cultural, and environmental dimensions, while also emphasizing the importance of strengthening the cooperative identity and promoting cooperative culture within communities. Additionally, the significance of cooperatives in the developmental process and their economic and social contributions in countries and communities will be highlighted, leading the United Nations to declare "2025 as the Year of Cooperatives" for the second time after 2012.
