The King of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, hosted Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati at the 33rd Arab Summit in Manama. They discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and the situation in Lebanon and the region.
The King welcomed the Prime Minister and his participation in the Bahrain Summit, discussing "the close brotherly relations and ways to support and enhance them in various fields that serve the interests of the two sister countries." He affirmed the "strength of the good relations that bind the Kingdom of Bahrain and Lebanon and the commitment to develop and grow them for the benefit of their two peoples."
Both the King and the Prime Minister expressed their wishes for "the success of the Arab Summit and that it yields fruitful results that strengthen Arab solidarity, peace, security, and stability in the region." The King emphasized the Kingdom's position towards Lebanon, which is based on supporting everything that preserves its security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, wishing that "the sisterly country enjoys security, stability, and prosperity."
For his part, the Prime Minister appreciated "the positions of the Kingdom of Bahrain under the leadership of the King and its care and concern for the unity and security of Lebanon," wishing for "the people of the Kingdom continued prosperity and progress under the leadership of His Majesty the King." Prime Minister Mikati hoped that "the Kingdom of Bahrain would reopen its embassy in Beirut."
**Meeting with the Prime Minister of Kuwait**
The Prime Minister also held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, at the Arab Summit venue in Manama. During the meeting, Prime Minister Mikati expressed that "Lebanon wishes for the sisterly Kuwait continuous health and prosperity, and that the measures taken reflect the vision of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Al Ahmad Al Jabir Al Sabah, to support the stability of his country." He congratulated his Kuwaiti counterpart on the formation of the new government and wished it success in its tasks.
**Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Algeria**
The Prime Minister met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants of the caretaker government, Abdullah Bouhabib, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad in Algeria, Ahmed Attaf. They discussed the relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them.
