A dead animal has caused panic among vacationers in one of the tourist villages in northern Egypt. Eyewitnesses told "Al Arabiya.net" that a group of beachgoers spotted the dead creature while swimming and immediately managed to pull it out of the water onto the shore. They confirmed that the dead animal could be a cow or a hippopotamus, suggesting that if it was a cow, it might have been thrown overboard from one of the boats carrying shipments of cattle, with the boat's crew discarding the deceased animal into the water. The vacationers reported the incident to the authorities to identify and analyze the dead animal.
**Whale or Shark?**
This comes just days after the appearance of three unidentified marine creatures in a tourist village at kilometer 67 in the city of El Hamam along the North Coast of Egypt, the Saturday before last. The National Institute of Oceanography and Fisheries revealed that it has formed a committee to investigate the presence of a whale or shark in the waters of the North Coast and conduct a thorough survey of the nearby beaches. The institute's statement noted that since the circulated video only shows a dorsal fin and part of the body, without the head or tail fin, it's difficult to accurately determine the species. Experts from the National Institute of Oceanography suggested that the creature is likely a small fin whale.
It is worth mentioning that a dead "Cuvier's beaked whale" was also recently found in a tourist village in the North Coast area. The Egyptian Ministry of Environment stated that it completed the safe burial of the dead whale after taking all required measures.
