Jamileh Directs Fiery Messages to Nasrallah: Ready for a TV Debate with

Lebanese Forces Party President Samy Jamileh addressed Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, stating that this country will not find peace until the southern front is closed. He added that Lebanon's woes began from this front and will end with its closure. Jamileh remarked, "To Hezbollah, we say we are not against you, but against the use of arms to subjugate the Lebanese and lead the country to ruin. Return to your Lebanese roots, engage with others, and hand over your weapons as we did; abide by the constitution and the law, and we are ready to extend our hand and cooperate."

Jamileh also told "the party": approach the Kataeb directly and not through misleading mouthpieces in the media who do not know how to speak. If you want a televised debate, we welcome it; we are ready and do not shy away from our past, present, or future. He added during a meeting for the students and youth sector of the Kataeb party: "We cannot elect a president because the party disrupts the quorum, and we cannot remove the refugees because the party wants their presence to pressure the international community and keep Bashar al-Assad content."

He continued: "No decision can be made because Hezbollah rejects the idea of a free state decision and does not want us to have a country where the Lebanese live freely with dignity and hope for the future." Jamileh emphasized that the root of the problem is in one place; if we liberate our decision, we can elect a president who is responsible and a national figure who can say no when it comes to Lebanon's interests.

Jamileh stated to Hezbollah: "Gold was bought by the Lebanese people because it was a wealthy country, and enough with distorting history; Lebanon was a rich country, and you destroyed it with the war in the south—this is the truth." He continued: "In our cause, we defended our country and our homes; we did not want war, we did not attack anyone, and we did not engage in battles where we had no stake. We fought battles in Dekwaneh, Shka, Zahle, Beirut, Qanat, Sannine, Ain el-Rummaneh, Kfarshima, and Ashrafieh, and all battles were in self-defense; we never transgressed against anyone."

He affirmed: "We want the Lebanese army to take over Lebanon's borders from the far south to the far north, and anyone who infringes on Lebanon—whether Israeli, Syrian, or Palestinian—everyone is responsible for defending our country. No one has been given exclusive rights; this is the duty of all Lebanese to defend Lebanon through institutions and the army."
