The Saudi Interior Ministry announced on Saturday the execution of a perpetrator in the Medina region, following his conviction for the murder of another Saudi citizen, according to a statement released by the ministry and reported by the Saudi Press Agency "WAS." The statement said: "Yasir bin Marzouk bin Khnayfis Al-Dhabiani, a Saudi national, killed Haji bin Rashid bin Awdat Al-Rifai, a Saudi national, by shooting him, which led to his death." Additionally, the Saudi Interior Ministry stated that "security authorities managed to apprehend the mentioned perpetrator, and the investigation led to charges being brought against him for committing his crime. He was referred to the competent court, which issued a ruling affirming his conviction for the charges leveled against him and sentenced him to execution as retribution. This was upheld by the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court, and a royal decree was issued to enforce what was determined by Sharia, and it was confirmed by the relevant authority," according to the text of the statement. The ministry confirmed that "the execution of the retribution sentence was carried out on the perpetrator Yasir bin Marzouk bin Khnayfis Al-Dhabiani, a Saudi national, on Saturday, corresponding to 16/12/1445 Hijri, which corresponds to 22/6/2024 AD in the Medina region," according to WAS.
