Political Clash Between the "Opposition" and the "Duo"

The successive initiatives have not stirred the stagnant waters of the presidential entitlement, but rather increased the distance between the parties in the absence of a settlement that secures national consensus or near-consensus for electing a president of the republic, which is the main entry point to reactivating the state machinery that has been dormant since the end of former president Michel Aoun's term, and even months prior amidst the paralysis of government and parliamentary work, along with the vacancies that have crept into positions of authority and state life, either due to the absence of consensus or because the regional settlement has not yet come to fruition, especially as any international agreement requires the approval and signature of the president of the republic. A source close to the Shiite duo said to "Al-Anbaa": The opposition wanted to emerge from its predicament through the roadmap it proposed, deliberately sidelining the Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri, while foreign parties acknowledge his pivotal role in crafting solutions and finding common ground. By doing so, the opposition aimed to reject its proposal, as agreeing to it would lead to dialogue which the opposition rejects, raising the question: Do all these initiatives really seek to find a solution to the presidential crisis, or are they merely for taking positions or buying time while waiting for favorable regional circumstances? The source added: If the opposition considers dialogue a novelty and a violation of the constitution, doesn’t the roadmap it proposed fall into the same category and thus violate the constitution? Meanwhile, a neutral source observed that the conflict between the opposition and the duo has transformed into a political clash that transcends the constitution and the presidential issue, extending to who dictates terms, according to "Al-Anbaa" Kuwait.
