Najwa Ibrahim's Statements Ignite Social Media

The media personality Najwa Ibrahim has topped the search engines on social media platforms following her controversial statements about placing mothers in nursing homes. This sparked anger among followers who were surprised by her remarks, especially since Najwa Ibrahim has a large audience that has followed her since childhood when she hosted children's programs.

The controversy began when the presenter, during her show aired on a television channel, advised that children should consider placing their mothers in nursing homes when they reach old age, particularly if the children are busy with work, travel, or other commitments. She commented: "Sometimes we find that some people blame the children who place their parents in nursing homes, although this matter can be positive. There is no shame in some resorting to this if they are occupied with work, travel, or other life matters. In this case, the mothers will have a suitable climate for living at that age, such as finding friends and nurses to care for them healthily."

In her statements, the presenter explained that the audience misunderstood her words, as she was mocking the children who place their families in nursing homes, especially since this issue has become widespread recently. She continued: "What triggered this controversy was that some individuals cut my statements about this phenomenon and circulated them through news sites, which led the audience to misunderstand and think that I encourage children to do this, despite being a mother to grown children who provide me with care and attention, and I love to always be by their side."

She clarified that nursing homes are sought by some in special cases, such as when a person is alone without anyone to care for them as they grow old or become ill, or when the children are not consistently present due to special circumstances like immigration or traveling abroad for work. She concluded: "If you are able to embrace your mother and stay by her side throughout her life, you must do so."
