In the latest development regarding the fraud experienced by the Kuwaiti football club "Kazma" in Egypt, where they played a match against a "fake" team claiming to be Telephones Beni Suef, the "Telephones Beni Suef" club issued a statement denying participation in a friendly match with the Kuwaiti club. They accused a player agent named "Sayed Riad" of impersonating a representative of the Egyptian club to arrange the fraudulent match. Telephones Beni Suef warned against dealing with "Sayed Riad", promising to take legal action against anyone using the club's name.
However, "Sayed Riad" defended himself, denying the use of the name Telephones Beni Suef. He added that he primarily aimed to promote his company, Al-Riyadh Sports Marketing, and affirmed that he promoted the match three days before it occurred as "a match for the Kuwaiti club against a team from his company." He further stated, "There were plans to play a match against Al-Qadsia Kuwaiti club, but I was surprised by the change in the venue and the club's name to Kazma," emphasizing that the change did not concern him as his main focus was marketing for his company and the players associated with it. He also clarified that those who promoted his alleged impersonation were seeking to tarnish his reputation in the sports community.
He concluded his remarks by confirming that he was in contact with the management of "Kazma" and that they understood the situation, noting that they had amended the club's name in their post on social media.
In a related note, the Kuwaiti club "Kazma" had announced in a post on their X account that their first football team won 7-1 against Telephones Beni Suef as part of the club's training camp in Alexandria in preparation for the new season. However, the shocking response came from the Egyptian club, which denied playing a friendly match with the Kuwaiti team. They stated on their Facebook account that they had not yet started their training period and had not played any friendly matches at all.
In its response, the Kuwaiti club confirmed in a statement that the responsibility for organizing the training camp, including all details and friendly matches, lies with the organizing company under a contract signed between both parties. They stressed that no future friendly matches would occur without official approval from the responsible parties of both competing clubs.
The statement also indicated that the organizing company bore legal and punitive responsibility for any repercussions arising from this mistake towards both clubs, Telephones Beni Suef and Kazma. Additionally, the Kuwaiti club published an official statement it received from "Star Maker Football" company, including their formal apology regarding the incident of the match played against a team carrying the name of Telephones Beni Suef during the Alexandria camp.
It is worth mentioning that this incident has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many expressing their dissatisfaction with a situation they described as "a scandal that tarnishes Egypt's sports reputation." Others considered that the incident did not occur at all after player agent Sayed Riad denied it, while some called for a formal investigation into the matter.
