Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of the Saudi team Al Nassr, expressed his support for Saudi Arabia's bid to host the FIFA World Cup 2034. On Wednesday, Saudi Arabia announced details of its hosting proposal for the 2034 World Cup, which includes 15 different stadiums across the cities of Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Abha, and NEOM.
Ronaldo shared a video on his "X" page from the official Saudi bid presentation, commenting: "Saudi bid 2034, Saudi Arabia invites the world to join us on our remarkable journey as a home for global sports," while featuring the kingdom's flag and the phrase "growing together."
The official World Cup 2034 page on "X" clarified in the video shared by Ronaldo that "the total travel time between the 5 host cities will not exceed 8 hours, with a distance of no more than 2 hours from one country to another."
The video also highlighted various historical sites in Saudi Arabia that will be showcased to the world during the World Cup, the third in Arab history after Qatar 2022 and Morocco 2030. It showcased the stadiums that will host the 2034 World Cup, which were announced by the kingdom on Wednesday, with Saudi Arabia being the only candidate for the event.
