Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas confirmed before the Turkish parliament that the Palestinian people have been living the Nakba since 1948, stating, "They stand steadfast despite the crimes of the occupation and the absence of justice, and Israel is waging a war of extermination against this people." He added, "We said in the past and we say now that Gaza is an integral part of the Palestinian state, and there is no state without Gaza." He further stated, "The killers and war criminals will never escape punishment for committing crimes and extermination against the Palestinian people." The Palestinian president pointed out that "the true goal of Israel is to uproot the Palestinian presence in Palestine and end the Palestinian existence in the occupied territories through killing civilians, which will never happen no matter the sacrifices."
