On Monday, Minister of Industry in the caretaker government, MP George Boushkian, congratulated Dr. Carol Abou Karam, the new president of the Pharmaceutical Factories Syndicate in Lebanon, and the new syndicate council following the elections. He praised the role of Lebanese pharmaceutical factories in light of the ongoing crises. Boushkian stated, "The sector has taken on the responsibilities of ensuring the citizens' needs for medicines and serums, continuing production and increasing it in quantity, type, and quality, with the aim of reducing dependency on imported medicine and fully meeting the market's needs with Lebanese serums." He emphasized that "the ministry is keen to support the sector and provide it with operational and essential materials, as it is a strategic sector for the health of citizens and the safety of society."
