The newspaper "Yedioth Ahronoth" reported that U.S. President Donald Trump has requested Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to refrain from targeting the Lebanese capital Beirut or vital facilities such as the airport, port, and electric company.
Trump's request comes amid a warning earlier today by Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee, via his official account on "X," to residents in the southern suburbs of Beirut, particularly in the Hay al-Hadeeth area. This warning followed indications that some buildings in the area are located near facilities affiliated with Hezbollah.
In his post, Adraee stated: "To everyone present in the building marked in red on the map and the neighboring buildings: you are located near Hezbollah facilities." He added, "For your safety and the safety of your families, you are required to evacuate these buildings immediately and move away at least 300 meters as shown in the map."
This warning has caused tension and concern among local residents, prompting many to take security and safety precautions as military escalation on the Lebanese-Israeli border intensifies.
