Israeli Reserve Medical Corps Personnel Refuse to Return to Gaza

Dozens of reserve officers and soldiers in the Israeli army's Medical Corps have announced their unwillingness to return and participate in combat in the Gaza Strip, according to Hebrew media sources. The resisters have cited opposition to the seizure and settlement of areas in Gaza, as well as the lack of progress towards the second phase of the exchange deal.

In related developments, protests continue in Israel demanding the conclusion of an agreement for the return of hostages. On Friday evening, demonstrators took to Ayalon Highway in Tel Aviv, blocking it for several minutes before being dispersed by the police, who arrested seven individuals.

Protesters also expressed their disapproval of the dismissal of the head of the Shin Bet and the government's legal advisor. Families and the protest movement have called for renewed demonstrations in Tel Aviv and other areas on Saturday evening.

A poll published by Channel 12 showed that 69% support a deal to release all hostages in exchange for ending the war. The same poll indicated that 70% do not trust the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
