Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, stated today, Tuesday, that "Iran will take all necessary measures to protect its nuclear program in the face of ongoing threats targeting Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities."
Araghchi, in a statement following a phone call from the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, emphasized that "Iran is committed to cooperating with the IAEA."
He highlighted the "necessity for the agency to take a clear stance regarding the threats against Iran's peaceful nuclear facilities," noting that there is agreement with Grossi regarding the discussions and coordination on the details of his visit to Tehran, with the aim of completing the necessary steps to ensure its success.
On his part, Grossi explained that he will conduct consultations with other parties to provide a suitable environment for resolving outstanding issues.
In a related context, the chief adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Larijani, confirmed yesterday that any American or Israeli attack on Iran under the pretext of its nuclear program "would force Tehran towards producing a nuclear bomb."
Larijani stated, "An attack on Iranian nuclear facilities will not serve the Americans' interests. In such a case, we will be compelled to pursue another path that might create a secondary justification for possessing nuclear weapons."
