The leaderships of the Amal Movement and Hezbollah in the Saida region and its surroundings held a coordination meeting in preparation for commemorating Ashura amidst ongoing Zionist aggression against Lebanon.
In their statement, they noted that "this year's Ashura comes as the lands of the south and the nation are stained with the blood of Lebanese following brutal Zionist assaults, merging today's sacrifices with the essence of the first martyrdom. This anniversary reiterates that it remains an eternal battle for truth against oppression, a voice of dignity that time cannot silence. From Imam Hussein, his family, and companions, we draw extraordinary tales of heroism and sacrifice, where sacred lives were given in defense of human dignity and faith values."
The participants emphasized that "Hussein’s teachings are not merely history recited; they are a conviction instilling in generations the certainty that dignity is neither bought nor sold, and standing against injustice is the noblest responsibility. Today, from the heart of suffering and the inspiration of Ashura, from Karbala to Southern Lebanon, our unwavering belief is renewed that blood triumphs over the sword, and the cry of truth will resound as long as there is a heartbeat rejecting subservience and a conscience defying oppression."
They also warned of "the intentions behind content shared on social media, identifying attempts by some to sow discord, reflecting their despair and confirming the strength and resilience of relationships."
The two leaderships agreed not to hold mourning councils in the Saida region due to the current circumstances."
