Lebanese MP Fouad Makhzoumi has expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia's decision to resume the reception of Lebanese exports, stating that the move signifies not only economic benefits but also underscores the deep brotherly ties between the two nations.
In a post on his "X" platform account, Makhzoumi extended his thanks to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, as well as the leadership and people of the Kingdom. He emphasized that the decision reflects Saudi Arabia's continued support for Lebanon, trusting in its ability to recover and restore its role and institutions.
He noted that this initiative not only meets a legitimate Lebanese demand but also demonstrates Saudi Arabia's commitment to standing by the Lebanese people in various circumstances and challenges, reaffirming its position as one of Lebanon's most prominent supporters on all levels.
Makhzoumi stressed that the decision will directly benefit Lebanese farmers, producers, and exporters across regions from Akkar and the Bekaa to the South, Beirut, and Tripoli, by opening new markets for Lebanese products, enhancing job opportunities, and boosting the economy.
He also thanked His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs, praising his efforts and ongoing work to strengthen Saudi-Lebanese relations, leading to this decision that he described as bringing joy and hope to the hearts of the Lebanese people.
Makhzoumi concluded by affirming that Saudi Arabia has never abandoned Lebanon but has always stood by its side. He expressed hopes that this step marks the beginning of a new phase of cooperation and partnership between the two countries, serving the interests of both peoples and enhancing stability and development trajectory.
