Lebanese Pilgrim Bus Disaster Sparks Immediate Response

A large passenger bus with a Jordanian license plate overturned late Tuesday night while transporting Lebanese pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the Umrah pilgrimage.

According to medical sources, the accident resulted in the deaths of 5 individuals and dozens of injuries, including several severe cases.

Salam's Response
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has been actively monitoring the heartbreaking accident involving the Lebanese pilgrims' bus in Daraa, Syria. In light of this tragedy, he stated, "I have instructed Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri to contact the relevant Syrian authorities to oversee the condition of the injured and ensure they receive the best medical and recovery care possible."

He also directed Zahi Chahine, Head of the Central Operations Room at the Prime Minister's office, to follow up on the incident in person, ensuring all developments are addressed.

Sadiq's Statement
In this context, MP Wadih Sadiq tweeted from his "X" platform account: "I have been in touch with the Lebanese affected by the unfortunate road accident in Syria, which resulted in casualties. The Prime Minister assured me that he is directly following the situation."

Reefy's Appeal
MP Ashraf Reefy also took to "X" with an urgent plea: "Urgent humanitarian appeal... A bus carrying Lebanese pilgrims overturned on the Daraa road in Syria, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries as they headed for the Umrah pilgrimage. Some survivors reached out to us, calling for urgent action and notifying the relevant officials in both the Lebanese and Syrian governments to expedite efforts in their rescue."
