Reacting to the explosions carried out by Israeli forces targeting the area surrounding the Citadel of Shaqif and the towns of Arnoun, Kufr Tibnit, Yuhmur Shaqif, and Hadatha, as well as earlier attacks across various southern Lebanese villages and cities under occupation, Speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri stated:
The reverberations caused by the terrorist explosions, which involved 700 tons of explosives and registered 3.8 on seismological scales, were felt by Lebanese residents from the south and the mountains up to the outskirts of the capital, Beirut. If these reverberations fail to awaken national and humanitarian consciousness regarding the destruction wrought by the Israeli war machine on human life, heritage, culture, and architecture, humanity and its future are undoubtedly at risk.
Speaker Berri concluded: What happened is condemnable and should not be met with silence, nor should we resign ourselves to these events.
