Samir Geagea, leader of the Lebanese Forces party, asserts that the current regional crisis can only be resolved through the fall of the Iranian regime or a significant change in its behavior.
In an exclusive interview on the 'Logic' program with Mohamed Al-Hamai on "Sky News Arabia," Geagea stated that the ongoing crisis will only end with either the "overthrow of the Iranian regime or, at a minimum, a change in its conduct and influence."
He argued that Tehran has "exported its revolution and harmed almost all the regional countries" over the past 40 years of abnormal circumstances, doubting that the U.S. can end the conflict without a comprehensive settlement of the Iranian nuclear file and the Strait of Hormuz crisis.
Geagea added that the only solution for Tehran lies in "returning to its borders," emphasizing that the current situation is not a transient crisis but a difficult labor that will lead to a new reality.
On another front, Geagea stressed that "there is no place for Hezbollah's weapons in Lebanon's future," noting this arsenal is a primary issue alongside problems caused by a corrupt political class.
He said, "Once the decision is in the hands of the Lebanese state, a comprehensive review must be conducted to address past gaps" and asserted that Hezbollah's weakening position indicates that "disarmament is now much closer to resolution."
He clarified that Hezbollah's military confrontation led to further Israeli control over Lebanese territories, stressing that decisions of war and peace and the country's defense must solely rest with the state.
On Syrian matters, Geagea dismissed the likelihood of any Syrian military intervention in Lebanon without an official request from the Lebanese government, urging for the demarcation of borders between the two countries and welcoming the "state logic" expressed by Syrian President Ahmed Al-Shara.
He advocated for enduring stability on Lebanon's southern border, considering peace with Israel "premature" due to various unresolved issues, primarily border restitution.
