Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez: Wedding Bells Ring in Madeira

British and Portuguese media outlets have revealed that Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo is preparing to marry his partner Georgina Rodriguez, after nearly a decade-long relationship.

The Portuguese newspaper "Correio da Manhã" reported that the wedding ceremony will be held on the island of Madeira, the birthplace of the Portuguese national team's captain, specifically at the Funchal Cathedral.

According to the British newspaper "The Sun," the event is set to take place this coming Saturday, just days before the Saudi League season starts, marking Ronaldo's new venture with Al-Nassr Club.

The newspaper added that the luxurious "Savoy Palace Hotel" in Madeira has been booked for the occasion, with two floors and several hotel facilities reserved for the event, informing guests of closures on Friday and Saturday.

The choice of Madeira for the wedding defies expectations that predicted it might be held in Argentina, Georgina's homeland, or in Spain where their love story began in 2016 when she was working at a store.

Georgina publicly announced her engagement to Ronaldo last August, after he proposed with a massive diamond ring that garnered widespread attention.

Ronaldo previously disclosed in an interview that he plans to marry once his major football commitments have concluded, emphasizing that the ceremony would be private and understated, aligning with Georgina's wishes.
