Lebanon's Women's Rugby Union Team Depart for Saudi Arabia

The Lebanon Women’s Rugby Union team left Beirut, heading to Taif City in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to participate in the fourth Arab Women’s Rugby Union (Sevens) Championship. Eight Arab teams are participating, with Lebanon placed in Group B alongside the teams from the UAE, Egypt, and Libya. The delegation consists of Union and Team Manager Marwan Azar, Head Coach Rouben Hashash, Physiotherapist Wadie Nasif, and players Tara Mabarak, Nour Nassar, Lara Shari, Yara Sharara, Sabah Al-Ayyash, Sara Kanaan, Julia Zidan, Elsa Saleeba, Mariline Anton, and Tala Mansour. The delegation will be welcomed in Taif by its Head, Secretary General of the Lebanese Rugby Union Abdullah Al-Jamal, who has arrived from London. He will also represent the Lebanese Union in the General Assembly of the Arab Union set to take place next Friday. The Lebanon women’s team will play three matches tomorrow, Friday, starting with the UAE women at 12 PM, followed by the Egyptian women at 4 PM, and then the Libyan women at 7:10 PM.
