Death Toll from Colombia Earthquake Reaches 240

On Tuesday, the death toll from the powerful earthquake that struck Colombia rose to 240, according to figures released by local authorities.

The earthquake, which registered a magnitude of 7.4, caused destruction in parts of western Colombia, including the coastal region of Chocó, Cali—the country’s third-largest city—and extensive areas of coffee-growing regions.
