Lebanon's President Michel Aoun has signed the new media law, as announced by Information Minister Dr. Paul Marquess. Discussions centered around possible amendments to achieve the optimal version of the law.
Following his meeting with President Aoun, Marquess stated, "President Aoun informed me that he has signed the new media law. We discussed potential amendments to reach the best possible formulation."
He added, "I updated President Aoun on the ongoing coordination with parliamentary blocs to incorporate further improvements to the law."
Marquess also noted that the meeting covered the Ministry of Information's affairs as well as operations at Tele-Liban and other media outlets.
