Former Leader of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, has condemned what he describes as the escalating blockade against Gulf nations. He also criticized the closure of Bab al-Mandab and actions threatening the security of Saudi Arabia, warning that the continuation of this path could indefinitely prolong the current conflict.
In a post on the platform 'X', Jumblatt stated, "While I denounce the increasing siege on Gulf states, I also condemn certain policies in Yemen that involve closing Bab al-Mandab and jeopardizing Saudi Arabia's security. This will lead to the war stretching without end."
Jumblatt called for a return to the U.S.-Iranian memorandum of understanding as a means to resolve the crisis, asserting that it provides a gateway to address the ongoing situation effectively.
