Flamengo Goalkeeper Receives 21 Bottles of Beer from Lionel Messi

Budweiser launched a campaign to celebrate Messi's goals after he broke the record of legend Pelé as the highest scorer in football history for a single club.

Diego Alves, the goalkeeper for Brazilian club Flamengo and former goalkeeper for Valencia and Almería, received gifts from Barcelona star Lionel Messi, consisting of 21 bottles of beer. Alves, who is considered Messi's favorite victim, having conceded 21 goals from the "Flea", shared a picture of himself with the 21 beer bottles on his Twitter account, commenting: "Congratulations Messi! 644 goals for one club is an excellent record!"

The 35-year-old, who previously played in the Spanish league with Almería (2007-2011) and Valencia (2011-2017), added: "With my 21 bottles, it seems I have my own record too!"

It is worth mentioning that Budweiser sent bottles of beer to other goalkeepers who were scored against by Messi as part of the same campaign. Each bottle carried the number of the goal conceded by each of them. Among the recipients was the renowned Italian Gianluigi Buffon, Juventus goalkeeper, who received two bottles for conceding two goals from the "Flea".
