Housework Poses a Risk of Vitamin D Deficiency

The magazine "Apotheken Umschau" warned that housework during the Corona pandemic increases the risk of vitamin D deficiency, which is crucial for muscle, bone, and immune system health. The German health magazine explained that the reason for this is that the body needs sunlight to produce this vitamin itself, commonly known as the "sunshine vitamin."

To help the body produce vitamin D, it's not necessary to take long sunbaths; it is sufficient to expose the face, hands, arms, and legs to sunlight daily. The body can also obtain vitamin D from foods rich in it, such as salmon, eggs, and mushrooms.

"Apotheken Umschau" cautioned against taking vitamin D supplements without consulting a doctor, as excessive intake of vitamin D can increase the risk of kidney stones or kidney calcification.
