Manchester City Revives Debate About Messi's Future

Manchester City has revived the debate surrounding the future of Barcelona star Lionel Messi with a surprising move, revealed by the Spanish program El Chiringuito just hours ago. Lionel Messi's contract with Barcelona ends this month, allowing the Argentine player to sign with any club for free. According to El Chiringuito, Jorge Messi, the father and agent of the Barcelona player, received a new call from Manchester City officials.

Messi has not yet received any official renewal offer from Barcelona. Several reports have indicated that Barcelona president Joan Laporta presented a preliminary offer to Messi, which includes signing a contract extending over 10 years. However, according to this initial offer, Messi would only remain with Barcelona for two years, after which he would be allowed to transfer to the American league.

The reports added that these details were agreed upon "amicably" between president Joan Laporta and Messi's father.
