Under the title "Businessman Kills Ex-Wife in Broad Daylight on a Busy Street and Then Commits Suicide," Emirates Today reported on a shocking incident that occurred last Saturday in the city of Teresina, Brazil. The businessman Wagner Dias Freitas, 52, premeditatedly killed his ex-wife Ana Valisca Araujo, 47, due to his inability to accept the end of their relationship and divorce.
The crime took place in front of a supermarket and was witnessed by passersby. According to the Brazilian website O Liberal, police gathered information indicating that this tragedy was well-known to the ex-wife due to her ex-husband's harassment. The accused had been stalking his ex-wife for months, to the extent that she sought help from family members to manage him. A protective order was issued against Wagner for Valisca, along with police reports filed against him, which did not prevent him from attempting to kill her.
Three restraining orders against Wagner were found in her bag after her murder. The 52-year-old businessman could not accept the end of their relationship and had been pursuing his ex-wife for months. A video that circulated on social media captured the moment Wagner arrived at the crime scene shortly after 2 PM, where he parked his car next to his ex-wife's vehicle.
Two minutes later, Ana exited the supermarket accompanied by a younger man. At that moment, Wagner left his car with a gun in hand and approached Ana, who attempted to return to the supermarket in search of safety. However, he caught her and shot her before turning the gun on himself, and both died instantly. The former couple had two children, who were extremely frightened and angry due to the murder. Some colleagues who visited Ana's home also stated that she had sought help from security personnel at her workplace.
