Egyptian authorities are investigating a woman on Monday after the governor of Gharbia filed an official complaint alleging that she disturbed him on the WhatsApp application. Ahmed Bilal, a member of the Egyptian Parliament from Mahalla, revealed that the authorities detained the woman due to a message she sent to the governor, requesting a review of his decisions, claiming the message "disturbed him."
**Official Complaint**
Tarik Rahmi, the governor of the region, filed an administrative complaint accusing a woman residing in the Azbat Khadr area of Mahalla of causing him disturbance on his WhatsApp. The prosecution will conduct its investigations with the woman this morning, while the local Bar Association has authorized a delegation from its freedoms committee to attend with her and defend her before the Public Prosecution, as well as to defend another citizen detained due to a similar complaint against the governor.
**Husband Denies Accusation**
For his part, Salah Harb, the husband of the detained woman, told Al-Arabiya.net that his wife did not send the message to the governor, indicating that someone's individual had previously hacked her phone and sent the message to the Egyptian official. He added that after retrieving the phone number, the wife gave it to their son, who is under sixteen, to use. He mentioned that both he and his wife attempted to meet with the governor to apologize and explain what happened but were unable to do so, emphasizing that the authorities seized the phone in preparation for it to be examined by technical committees to uncover the hacking incident and determine the source and timing of the messages.
