Nutrition expert Rashi Choudhary states that consuming certain foods helps the brain produce dopamine and serotonin, which are neurotransmitters responsible for happiness, good mood, and restful sleep. Choudhary revealed 3 foods that enhance feelings of happiness, according to the Indian Express:
**Sesame Seeds**
Sesame seeds contain tyrosine, which boosts dopamine levels in the brain, improving thinking, memory, and mood. 100 grams of sesame seeds contain 0.79 grams of tyrosine.
**Coffee**
Coffee not only releases dopamine but also inhibits the adenosine neurotransmitter in the brain that makes one feel sleepy. It is advised not to consume more than two cups of coffee daily.
**Bananas**
Bananas are rich in potassium but also contain another component known as tryptophan, an amino acid that the body converts into serotonin, helping to relax. A medium-sized banana contains about 11 milligrams of tryptophan. Potassium and magnesium help reduce stress levels, allowing you to sleep better.
