Shaheen wrote in a tweet: "Abdul Salam Hanafi (Deputy Head of the Political Office of the movement) had a phone conversation with Wu Jianghao, the Deputy Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China, and both sides discussed the current situation in the country and future relations." Shaheen added that "the Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister indicated that his country will maintain its embassy in Kabul, and that our relations will be strengthened compared to the past, as Afghanistan can play an important role in security and development in the region, and China will also increase its humanitarian assistance, especially for COVID-19 treatment."
