The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Mark Milley, stated that the U.S. military may coordinate with the "Taliban" on future counter-terrorism operations against the "ISIS" group in Afghanistan. Milley told reporters, "We do not know what the future holds for the Taliban, but I can tell you from personal experience that this is a ruthless group... Regarding our dealings with them at Kabul Airport or last year or during the war, we do what we have to do to mitigate risks, not necessarily what we want to do." When asked about the possibility of coordinating with the "Taliban" against the terrorist group "ISIS," he said, "That is possible."
