Saudi Public Investment Fund Acquires Newcastle United with Yasser Al-Rumayyan as Chairman

The Public Investment Fund announced the appointment of Yasser Al-Rumayyan as the non-executive chairman of the Newcastle United Board of Directors following the completion of a 100% acquisition. The statement added that Amanda Staveley, CEO of PCP Capital Partners, has been appointed as a board member, alongside "Jamie Rubin," who will represent RB Sports & Media. The Public Investment Fund had previously announced the completion of a 100% acquisition of Newcastle United from St. James Holdings Limited, led by an investment group that includes PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media. All necessary approvals from the Premier League were obtained, and the acquisition was completed on October 7, 2021.
