The Tunisian national team has strengthened its lead in Group B of the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after defeating its Mauritanian host 3-0 yesterday, Thursday, during the third round of qualifying matches. The Tunisian team increased its score to nine points at the top of the standings, three points ahead of the second-place Equatorial Guinea, while Mauritania sits at the bottom of the table with no points, and Zambia is in third place with three points.

Tunisia took the lead through Elyes Skhiri in the 15th minute, before Wahbi Khazri added the second goal in the 42nd minute. In the 85th minute, Seifeddine Jaziri scored the third goal for Tunisia. It is worth mentioning that the Tunisian team will face Mauritania again on the latter's home ground on the tenth of this month, while Equatorial Guinea will visit their Zambian counterparts on the same day.
