A 57-year-old man lost consciousness while driving his car for two kilometers in the Schwaben region of Bavaria, southeastern Germany, and subsequently died. Police reported on Friday that the driver veered off the road near the town of Ellertissen at the entrance to the A7 highway. The car passed through several meadows and cornfields before finally crashing into trees. A witness attempted to assist the man but was unable to communicate with him, and he died shortly thereafter in the hospital. The driver collapsed and lost consciousness at the wheel due to his illness.
