A minibus veered off course yesterday, Sunday, on the "Coast Bridge" in the Imbaba area south of Cairo, collided with a metal barrier, tearing away nearly 3 meters of it due to the impact, and then plunged into the Nile River. However, it completely disappeared afterward, and no bodies of the 14 passengers onboard were found, leading to a mystery that the river rescue teams could only attribute to the river sweeping away the small bus and the bodies of those who drowned in it.
Security forces were dispatched to the bridge after receiving reports from eyewitnesses about the minibus falling from it, with several citizens confirming that the area occasionally witnesses thefts of metal, which could explain the missing barrier.
Strangely, despite witnesses claiming to have seen the bus fall into the water, an official from the security leadership at the accident site stated, according to local media, that "there have been no reports of missing citizens or their disappearance, nor has the driver provided any statement about a colleague's disappearance," he said.
In the video shown above, from the "Al-Hekaya" program by media figure Amr Adib on "MBC Masr," more information surrounds the perplexity regarding the small bus and what happened to it, noting that rescue teams have not ceased their search, which has yet to yield any results.
