The Syrian news agency reported last Friday evening that Syrian air defenses are responding to hostile targets in the skies over the Homs countryside. The official Syrian TV channel, Al-Ikhbariya, stated: "An Israeli aggression targets the central region, and air defense systems are responding." Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported "violent explosions in central Syria and in Al-Boukamal in eastern Syria, due to strikes likely to be Israeli on several locations." The T4 military airport is considered one of the prominent military bases for the Syrian government forces and their allies, having been subjected to more than 20 airstrikes since the outbreak of the Syrian crisis in early 2011. Additionally, local sources in the Al-Boukamal area in eastern Deir ez-Zor informed (DPA) that two powerful explosions shook the city of Al-Boukamal on the Syrian-Iraqi border.
