Saudi Arabia has expressed deep concern regarding Iran's failure to fulfill its obligations under the 5+1 nuclear agreement. The Kingdom, through its permanent representative to the United Nations, Abdullah bin Yahya Al-Moallemi, emphasized today, Wednesday, that resolving this issue is an important step towards achieving security, stability, and understanding among countries in the region. Saudi Arabia considers Iran's continued uranium enrichment in quantities exceeding permissible limits to be a threat to the security of regional countries. According to the Saudi Press Agency "SPA," the Kingdom hopes for the resumption of negotiations in Vienna to reach a binding agreement that addresses current deficiencies, particularly concerning Iran's negative practices and its dangerous ballistic missile program, ensuring the peaceful nature of the nuclear program and preventing it from acquiring nuclear weapons. The Saudi ambassador clarified his country's view that the first step towards the complete removal of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction is to expedite support for the establishment of nuclear-weapon-free zones worldwide, especially in the Middle East.
