# Saudi Arabia Announces Easing of COVID-19 Precautionary Measures

A responsible source in the Saudi Ministry of Interior announced on Friday the easing of precautionary measures against the novel coronavirus, starting from next Sunday. According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the easing of measures was based on recommendations from relevant health authorities and the progress in community vaccination and the decline in case numbers.

The decision allows for not mandating the wearing of masks in open areas, except in specified locations, while continuing to require masks in closed spaces. The source noted that the easing of measures applies to those who have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

The easing includes allowing full capacity use in the Grand Mosque, while requiring workers and visitors to wear masks at all times throughout the mosque's corridors. Additionally, social distancing requirements are being lifted, allowing full capacity in gatherings, public spaces, transportation, restaurants, cinemas, and similar venues.

Moreover, vaccination with two doses is required for entry into all stated sites and activities, with exemptions for those not included or specified according to the "Tawakalna" application.
