Fatal Bridge Collapse Due to Truck Driver Error

Russian government radio and television stations reported a deadly accident on the Perm-Yekaterinburg highway that resulted in the closure of the federal road in both directions. Near the Kokushatan area, the heavy truck driver failed to lower the truck's box, causing it to collide with an overhead pedestrian bridge, resulting in the bridge structure collapsing onto the truck and all vehicles traveling beneath it. The drivers of the vehicles died immediately from their injuries. Russian authorities in Perm are investigating the circumstances of the accident and have closed the federal highway in both directions. Traffic police have requested drivers to avoid traveling towards Yekaterinburg if possible.
