A sixth-grade Egyptian student lost his life inside a school in the 6th of October City due to a dispute over who had the right to sit in the front seat of the classroom, marking the second victim in Egypt during the first week of school. Security investigations revealed that a verbal altercation occurred between "Yasser," 11 years old, and his classmate over the priority of sitting in the front. The situation ended with both students sitting next to each other, but then an unexpected event occurred, according to Masrawy.
The classmate refused to let "Yasser" sit next to him, demanding, "Get up from next to me; you're going to squeeze me." However, Yasser refused to comply, stating, "You get up; I'm not getting up." At that moment, "Yasser" was distracted eating, when his classmate delivered an elbow strike to his neck, leading to his death before he could be transferred to the hospital.
The police have detained the student responsible for his classmate's death, and a report has been filed regarding the incident, which has been referred to the public prosecution for investigation.
Yesterday, another Egyptian student in the second preparatory grade in Kafr El-Sheikh province died after spending four days in a coma in a hospital due to an assault by several classmates arising from a dispute over who had the right to sit in the front row.
