The Iraqi Joint Operations Command announced that members of the Islamic State killed 11 people, including a woman, on Tuesday in an attack on a village in Diyala province in eastern Iraq. The statement added that the attack targeted "unarmed civilians" in the village of Al-Hawasha, near the town of Muqdadiyah, resulting in several injuries. Earlier, security and medical sources told Reuters that unidentified gunmen killed 11 people and injured 15 others in the assault. Police reported that the attackers used several vehicles and semi-automatic rifles in the attack.
