The Ether currency, linked to the Ethereum blockchain network, rose 2.6% to $4,400 in Asian trading, surpassing its previous peak of $4,380 reached on May 12. Cryptocurrency markets have surged sharply in recent weeks, with Ether climbing more than 60% since its lows in late September, according to Reuters. Bitcoin, which recorded its highest level at $67,016 on October 20, was up 1.4% at $61,457, representing an increase of nearly 50% since late September. Among the largest cryptocurrencies that have recently risen is Shiba Inu, which saw its price increase by about 160% this week, making it the eighth largest cryptocurrency in the world.
