Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi urged on Sunday to "overcome party or personal differences" in Iraq, emphasizing that new lawmakers have a "duty to restore people's trust in political action and democracy" in the country. Al-Kadhimi stated, "Today we fulfill our promise to our people by conducting fair early elections. People chose who represents them, and these new lawmakers will perform their roles in the new parliament."
In this context, he stressed that new lawmakers have "moral and national obligations toward their people," adding that they have a duty to restore people's trust in political action and democracy. The Iraqi Prime Minister underscored the necessity to "overcome differences," saying, "We must join our hands together and overcome party or personal disputes to guide our country to safety and provide what our people deserve in terms of welfare, stability, and development." He also remarked firmly that "for some, politics has become synonymous with extortion, lies, conflict, and deceiving the people."
