The UAE secured the second position globally on the list of "Best Countries to Live and Work Abroad" for 2022, published yesterday by the American magazine "CEO World." The list predicts the best countries for expats to live in over the coming year based on a study conducted by "CEO World," which considered various objective factors and criteria. These included the level of personal happiness that each country provides to its resident expats, as well as health and wellness, safety and security, digital life, environmental quality, ease of relocating and settling in the country, how much expats feel at home, local friendliness, ease of making friends, accessibility to personal finance, career success prospects, job satisfaction, work-life balance, economic conditions, job security, cost of living, and salary levels, among others.
The UAE outperformed all countries worldwide, except for Canada, in the anticipated best destinations for expats in 2022. Taiwan, Mexico, Vietnam, Portugal, Malaysia, Thailand, Costa Rica, and Ecuador ranked third to tenth, respectively. Surprisingly, the United States, France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Australia ranked relatively low on the list, coming in at 16th, 17th, 20th, 22nd, and 29th, respectively.
