A police spokesperson told public broadcasting that "the motives for the attack are not clear yet." Security sources indicated that the train involved in the attack stopped near the town of Seubersdorf, in the Palatinate region of Bavaria. A spokesperson for German Railways confirmed that the line between Regensburg and Nuremberg has been closed since the incident on Saturday morning. The spokesperson for Deutsche Bahn added, "At this time, trains are halted in suitable areas."
