American actor George Clooney revealed that he has prohibited his wife, human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, from watching one of his famous films. In statements to "Variety" magazine, he stated that he does not allow his wife to watch his film "Batman & Robin," which he presented in the mid-1990s, out of fear that she would lose respect for him after seeing it. He explained, "I want to have some respect from my wife."
Clooney (60) also confirmed that he prevents his twin children, Alexander and Ella, from seeing any part of the movie because he could be hurt by their criticism, with them saying to his face, "This is bad." The film "Batman & Robin" was classified as the worst movie featuring the fictional crime-fighting character Batman, from DC Comics, and Clooney faced severe criticism at the time of the film's release in 1997 due to the design of his Batman suit.
Clooney has distanced himself from the film for years, which also starred Arnold Schwarzenegger, Uma Thurman, and Chris O'Donnell, and was directed by the late Joel Schumacher. In 2013, Clooney told "Deadline" that he keeps the Batman suit from "Batman & Robin" in his office as a constant reminder of the dangers of making films solely for commercial gain.
It's worth noting that Clooney's latest film is "The Tender Bar," which he is directing and stars American actor Ben Affleck, set to be released in U.S. theaters on December 22.
